This is from the CAP Christmas Chronicle 1970, with apologies to Kenneth Horne and Dickie Murdoch (you have to be really ancient to remember who they were). It's a little thing that goes something like this:

Of Alex's pre-eminence there's no disputing,
At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
He's the outstanding figure in the whole world of computing.
Let me give but one example of his versatility,
He takes on ICL, IBM, and DEC,
And tells them how to implement functional variability,

At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
Barney's skill in three phase wiring is beyond question,
At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
To doubt this expertise is an absurd suggestion.
He starts to tell of it each day as we sit down to our feed
By the time the main course is half way through we know how to connect a lead
One day the tale will last 'til coffee. Oh God, that's all we need!

At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
Tony's standard contract phrases do us credit,
At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
In any proposal checklist surely they must head it.
There's one little phrase though that I must say I'm a wee bit shy about,
"If less effort is needed, so will our charges be" - of that there is no doubt,
But if more effort is required….." Ah! By golly then we're out!

At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
The job that David does for us has many facets,
At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
Of which the most important is to be the guardian of our assets.
To get last year's profit units paid, you have to tap upon his door,
You go down on your bended knee and with him you implore,
But all he says is "I'll pay when I can, Shall we say 1984?"

At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
To work on large machines Don's positively itching.
At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
It'll be such a change from medicine and message switching.
From data banks to clearing banks his thoughts will have to climb,
Not blood, but credit transfers will now take up his time.
So should he ever amputate a sick account - let's hope it won't be mine,

John's taste in cars is very cosmopolitan.
At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
As is well known to the Editor of this Bulletin.
Just ask him when he drives his Triumph, exactly how it feels;
He'll either tell you it's to port or starboard that it keels,
Which isn't too surprising, since it's only got three wheels.

Dick has ensured our prayers for good reporting have been answered.
At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
By taking on the role performed by Hansard.
Each day he went down to the house, to sub-committee D,
He put down everything they said in a pad upon his knee;
He typed it up, and sent it round, and we got it by half-past three.

At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
Tony Price think we should give more attention to our selling.
At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
His arguments for this are quite compelling.
Our hair with wretched Brylcream he tells us we should all anoint
To get the right side of the client, he says, will help us case the joint.
And then we give him the pencil sell - just to make sure he gets our point.

At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
Ted's grey hairs are the object of much veneration.
At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
He personifies in fact, the third generation.
About our profit record though he's quite a bit confused,
Is it Fourier? Linear? Exponential? - every graph he's used
The closest fit showed us broke next year - and Alex was not amused!

LAST VERSE

At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
Since Meinard came to help our public relations.
At Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh,
Every medium has been the object of our penetrations.
We used to dance with joy whenever we were mentioned in the press,
Every article that referred to us we'd treasure and caress.
But now unless it's one mile long, we couldn't really care less.
